Every one of our clients has a unique situation and we work hard to provide a personalized care plan for each of them, in order to allow them to remain living comfortably and independently in their own homes.  At Valley of the Sun Homecare, we begin by reviewing your needs during a free In-Home Assessment, in which our Care Coordinator will meet with you and your loved one.  The purpose of the meeting is for us to get to know you and your loved one and to learn as much as we can about your needs and expectations.  During the In-Home Assessment, we will work with you to form an individualized care plan that best suits your needs.
Even after care begins, our Care Coordinator will check in periodically with you and your loved one via telephone and occasional home visits.  We make every effort to maintain transparent communication between client, care recipient, caregiver and Care Coordinator.

Meal Preparation

Your caregiver will prepare or help prepare hot, delicious meals for your loved one.  For some seniors, preparing well-balanced meals can be a struggle.  With this important service, Valley of the Sun Homecare is helping seniors to live healthier.

Grocery Shopping

Your caregiver will do your loved one’s grocery shopping, either with your loved one or while he/she stays home — depending on his/her preference.

Your caregiver can assist with laundry.  Depending on your loved one’s needs, our laundry service can include washing, drying, ironing and/or putting clothes away. Your caregiver will work with your loved one to ensure that laundry is done according to your loved one’s preferences.

Light Housekeeping

Our  caregivers will perform light housekeeping services for your loved one.  These services may include:
  • Dusting
  • Vacuuming
  • Sweeping
  • Taking out trash
  • Straightening rooms and putting items away
  • Organizing closets, cabinets, or drawers

Errands and Incidental Transportation

Your caregiver will drive your loved one to his/her errands, such as picking up prescriptions or dropping off dry cleaning.  Alternatively, if desired, your caregiver can run the errands while your loved one stays home.

Medication Reminders

Our caregivers will help your loved one to take medication as prescribed.  They cannot administer prescription medications, of course, but they will be happy to assist with filling pill boxes, opening prescription bottles and other containers, or simply reminding your loved one when it is time to take a dose.

Grooming and Bathing

We believe that it’s important for your loved one to look and feel his/her best.  Our caregivers will help wash and comb hair and assist with other routine grooming tasks.

Live-In Service

With our live-in service, we provide a full-time caregiver who lives in your loved one’s home to provide in-home care on a daily basis.  We work with you and your loved one to identify the specific types of services you require.  If your loved one suffers from Alzheimer’s disease or dementia, a live-in caregiver can help bring you peace of mind.  Live-in care eliminates those hard-to-fill gaps when no one is available to attend to your loved one.

24-Hour Care

With 24-hour care, we dedicate a team of our caregivers to your loved one.  They work in shifts to be with your loved one, 24 hours a day.  As always, we work with you and your loved one to identify the specific services you need.  If your loved one has recently been affected by a serious accident or illness, 24-hour care can help with the transition.

Respite Care or Relief for Family

At Valley of the Sun Homecare, we hope to make life easier for you and your loved one.  You can schedule our respite care services when you need time to run your own errands or catch up on sleep.

Transferring and Positioning

Your caregiver can help your loved one get around more easily and to sit with posture that promotes good health and safety.  They are specially trained so that they can help move and place your loved one as necessary.  For example, your loved one may require assistance getting into or out of bed or a chair.

Toileting and Incontinence

We understand that your aging loved one may struggle with a sense of embarrassment that arises from losing his/her independence because of incontinence or other toileting issues.  Your caregiver will help your loved one to maintain dignity while assisting him/her with the simple tasks of daily living.

Alzheimer’s and Dementia Care

If your loved one is experiencing symptoms of dementia, Valley of the Sun Homecare’s dementia caregivers can help.  Our caregivers can be there to assist when your loved one experiences momentary confusion or a lapse in memory.  If the symptoms are more advanced, our specially-trained Alzheimer’s caregivers can provide activities that stimulate the senses and improve your loved one’s quality of life.
