FAQ

A lot of thought goes into the decision process behind choosing the right home care options for senior loved ones. Below you will find answers to some of the questions you may have, although we realize this is only a starting point.  For more specific questions, call us at (480) 264-5252 or email our Valley of the Sun Homecare office to speak to one of our care coordinators.

Q:  WHAT KIND OF PERSONAL HOME CARE SERVICES DO YOU PROVIDE?

A:  We provide companion and personal home care services with the goal of helping keep your loved one living at home where they feel most comfortable.  This can include such things as meal preparation, laundry and linen service, light housekeeping, medication reminders, transportation and errands, bathing, dressing and toileting. We also have highly trained and dedicated dementia care providers and Alzheimer’s caregivers on our Scottsdale home care team who can assist with all your dementia care needs. Please visit our services page to learn more about our wide range of personal home care services.

Q:  HOW DO YOU SCREEN YOUR CAREGIVERS?

A:  We take this very seriously. We don’t hire anyone whom we wouldn’t feel comfortable taking care of someone in our own family.  Every caregiver goes through a rigorous interview process which includes the following:  criminal & driving background check, drug screening, proof of auto insurance, proof of citizenship, employment reference checks, personal ethics, special training and certification verifications.  In addition, all of our caregivers are bonded, insured and covered by workers compensation, helping to ensure our clients peace of mind.

Q:  DO YOUR CAREGIVERS HAVE ANY SPECIALIZED TRAINING?

A:  All caregivers are certified in First Aid & CPR.  Valley of the Sun Homecare also has a continuous education program which keeps caregivers current and up-to-date on professional best practices within the  industry. Additionally, we predominantly hire caregivers who are already certified and/or certified nursing assistants (CNA).

Q: ARE YOUR PERSONAL CARE SERVICES AVAILABLE IN RETIREMENT COMMUNITIES, ASSISTED LIVING FACILITIES, NURSING HOMES,  HOSPITALS OR REHABILITATION CENTERS?

A: Yes.  Our services can be provided anywhere a client needs them.

Q:  DO YOU ACCEPT LONG TERM CARE INSURANCE?

Yes. We are network providers with most major Long Term Care Insurance providers including Genworth, Prudential, John Hancock, Mutual of Omaha, MetLife, and many many more.

Q:  DO YOU OFFER DISCOUNTS FOR VETERAN’S?

A:  We are honored to help those who have served our country.  Through the Veterans Administration, veterans and the surviving spouses of veterans may qualify for benefits which can help significantly defray the costs of in-home care.  If you are a veteran or a surviving spouse of a veteran, we will be happy to help you through the application process.

Q:  DOES VALLEY OF THE SUN HOMECARE HAVE STAFF ON CALL FOR EMERGENCIES?

A:  Yes.  Even when the office isn’t open during regular business hours, a member of our on call staff is always available to help you. You can always reach us by calling (480) 264-5252

A:  Call our office at (480) 264-5252 or email info@valleyofthesunhomecare.com We will have a care coordinator come to your home to conduct a free, no-obligation assessment.  The purpose of the assessment is to learn more about the care recipient’s needs and allow us to identify a caregiver who will make a great match.
