About Us
Jude Tarris opened Valley of the Sun Homecare after discovering the personal fulfillment and rewards of helping others. He has been both a caregiver for his own elderly grandparents and also a professional caregiver for an agency in Florida. During that time, Jude formed special bonds with the people he cared for – bonds he continues to cherish today. Jude originally moved to Arizona as a step in his marketing career. But before long, he found himself thinking often of the time he had spent as a caregiver, and how he had so enjoyed the simple reward of helping others. Eventually, Jude was compelled to leave his career in order to pursue his passion for helping others and he opened Valley of the Sun Homecare.
Why Choose Valley of the Sun Homecare?
Our Approach: We believe that choosing the right caregiver is a difficult and personal decision and we think it requires the kind of personal attention and hands-on support that only a local agency can provide. Valley of the Sun Homecare is owned locally and operated locally. The company’s founder, Jude Tarris, lives and works in Scottsdale, Arizona.
Our People: Although Arizona does not require any special licenses or credentials for in-home caregivers, we hold our staff to very high standards. We work hard to make sure that every one of our clients receives the best possible care, feeling safe, secure, and comfortable at home. Every one of our caregivers must pass an extensive interview process, a background check, and a drug test. Mr. Tarris has a simple rule: If he wouldn’t trust someone to care for his own family, he simply won’t allow them to care for yours.
Our Values: We take pride in being an active, responsible member of the local community. We are a member organization of the Arizona Non-Medical Home Care Association, the Private Duty Homecare Association, National Association for Home Care & Hospice, Arizona Chapter of American Parkinson Disease Association and the Scottsdale Area Chamber of Commerce. Additionally, we are annual supporters of the Alzheimer’s Association Memory Walk.
Our Size: We believe Arizonans deserve to have the best care at prices they can afford. That’s why we insist on being a small, independent company. We are not part of a national franchise, so we don’t pay franchise fees and we pass those savings on to you and also pay our caregivers more than the average agency. By keeping our company small, we deliver excellent service and we keep it affordable for you.
A Letter from Our Founder, Jude Tarris
Finding the right provider to help care for your aging loved one is a daunting task. You want to be able to help your loved one to live comfortably at home, but no one wants to open their doors to a total stranger. You want someone you can trust, someone you can depend on. And most of all, you want someone who will take care of your loved one as well as you do – someone who can anticipate your loved one’s needs and truly make living at home easier.I started Valley of the Sun Homecare because I wanted to make a difference in my local community, right here in Arizona. Although there are plenty of home care providers throughout Arizona, the state does not currently regulate the non-medical home care industry. That makes it difficult to find a caregiver you can trust and depend on. I created Valley of the Sun Homecare to be the kind of company that my neighbors and fellow Arizonans could count on to provide the very best in quality, reliable in-home care for their aging loved ones—just as I would want for my own family and friends. As a former caregiver myself, I know how difficult it can be for family members and friends to care for an aging loved one. It can be painful to watch as daily tasks become more difficult. Sometimes you worry that your loved one is not eating well enough. Sometimes it is a struggle to fit in every errand or appointment. Sometimes it’s just the simple household tasks, such as putting away laundry or reaching items on high shelves, that get to be too much. As time goes on, it becomes increasingly difficult to simply enjoy your loved one’s company anymore, because there is just so much to do. At Valley of the Sun Homecare, we understand these concerns and we’re here to help. Our mission at Valley of the Sun Homecare is simple: We treat each and every client like we would treat our own family. If you or a loved one could use a little extra help, we are here for you. Please call us today to talk about how we can make life easier for you.
